So this happened: I was late for my German exam and as I stepped out of my car I heard that “toot toot.” I started speed walking, maybe even a half jog. I got to the steps just a few yards from the train tracks, but was too late. Then, the conductor pops the window down, wags his finger at me, and yells, “Shoulda walked faster.”
Our imagination is stretched to the utmost, not, as in fiction, to imagine things which are not really there, but just to comprehend those things which are there.
